Scene without vegetation when I load it via the launcher!

**D5 Render Version:2.11
**Graphics Card: RTX 5090
**Driver Version:580.88
**Issue Description: Scene loaded from the launcher without vegetation, from D5 render with vegetation.

Hello,

loaded via the launcher, there is no vegetation except trees.

If I skip the launcher and load directly from D5 Render, everything is OK!

Strange!

Hi @a.drexler

Is it specific to this file only?

  • Which specific D5 2.11 Build are you using?
    2.11 Build Version

If so, can you send us for further testing? Please send it to support@d5techs.com and have it titled 2.11 Clov-Forum Scene Without Vegetation when I load it via Launcher

Hi Clov,
yes it’s just a project.

I am using 2.11.0603

I have sent the requested data to the e-mail you mentioned.

Please let me know if you were able to find the problem.

Bye
Andreas

Thanks for sending your files. I do advise next time to have the title the same as I have mentioned just for navigation ease

Hi @a.drexler

No replication on my end. Can you send or attach a screenshot on your end, basically showing the difference between opening it by launcher and directly? Thanks.

Hello Clov,

loaded via Launcher:

When I selected a scatter area via the list, this message came up:
Scatter_Area_regenerate

This allowed me to restore many scatter areas, but
not all areas.

Loaded directly from D5:

No problems, verything right!

Maybe the D5 team will find the error!
Which is of course desirable.

Hi @a.drexler

By the way, may I know where this file is located or placed?

  • Purely Local File Path?
  • Network Path?
  • Or Cloud Storage?

Please confirm. Anyway, we’ll inspect your logs and see if we can find something. Thank you for these images too!

Hello Clov,

the file is on a network path.
However, this applies to all my projects.

However, this problem only exists in this one project.

If this error occurs again and again in different projects, it would be a big problem.

Just to add to this thread, I’ve experienced something similar.

I’ve lost all scatters when I opened via D5 Launcher. The scatters were area divided using the Advanced Brush, so I suspected that’s where the problem came from.

I’ve now rebuilt most of my vegetation, but placed everything manually for this current project because I didn’t want to get this bug again, and might not be able to deliver the visualization in time.

My 3D is also synced with a Live Sync plugin.

Hello Oliver,

In my case it was scatter and paths.

Hi @a.drexler

Alright, got it, have you tried placing them purely in your local address and opening it again via the launcher and see if the vegetation appeared normally?

As for @oliver

  • Does opening it directly (clicking the .drs file) have normal results?
  • Since the Live Sync was activated, the surfaces where these scatters were generated were not changed, renamed, or removed, right?
  • If it’s possible to collect your Logs + Scene Files that would be best, but if you’re unable to share the Scene Files, then we’ll gladly collect your Logs. Please send it to me via Direct Message.

Hello Clov,
I saved the scene from the launcher to a local hard drive on my PC.
Then I closed D5 and the launcher.
I restarted the launcher, loaded the scene, but the plants were still missing.

Then I loaded the locally saved scene directly from D5, but the plants were still missing here too!???

I loaded the scene from the network directly from D5, and the plants were back!
(This scene is not saved via the launcher.)

There seems to be a problem with saving from the launcher!

I will probably avoid the launcher until this problem has been saved.

It’s too risky for me to lose hours of work!

Bye
Andreas

Hi @a.drexler

Sorry but I’m quite confused about your statements, let me clarify:

  • By “Local Hard Drive,” you meant either your C or D Drive, right? and not an External Drive?
  • Loading the locally saved scene directly from D5, does this mean you opened D5 First > File > Open ?
  • And how were you able to load the scene directly from the network to D5? Is it by simply clicking on the File Folder > Opening the drs file?

We have been unable to replicate this issue on our end, and to properly investigate, we need to clarify the exact steps you are taking. A screen recording of your workflow would be extremely helpful, as it would allow us to see the problem firsthand and better understand what might be causing it.

Additionally, if you have put the D5 program or any files in your network folder or network path, I suggest placing them purely on your local drive ( C: or D:), then check if it persists.
