Cant Upgrade post 2.3 versión

Hello everyone, I want to share that I’ve been struggling with an issue for almost a year now that’s driving me crazy! Literally! I can’t update to newer versions of D5, since version 2.3. Every time I install the latest version, D5 simply closes as soon as I launch it.

I’ve tried everything logically possible:

  • Windows updates
  • Driver updates
  • Windows reinstallation (attached video from November 4, 2024)
  • Installation of the necessary packages for D5 to work (libraries)
  • Installation of both new and old drivers for the graphics card (Quadro RTX 4000)

Until today, I still haven’t been able to make it work. Just 3 days ago, I changed the motherboard, CPU, and RAM. I’m leaving the specifications. I still can’t get it to work, even with a brand-new operating system installed from scratch, fully formatted.

Only 3 applications installed since yesterday. It’s truly insane.

Sorry, i remember that i cant upload videos.

Hi @FrancoCiarrocca, apologies for the inconvenience. Kindly enter ‘’%appdata%‘’ on your PC to see if you still have any folders with D5 prefix. You have to delete the folders (if any) and try installing D5 Render once again.

Hello Anthony!

Thank you for your prompt response. While I was looking at your reply, I was trying the following:
I completely uninstalled the Nvidia Quadro RTX 4000 driver and left it without any driver installed, neither from Windows or from Nvidia. When I tried to run D5 2.9, I was able to enter successfully without it crashing, and of course, I received the notice that the specifications are not sufficient to run the program.

I’m sharing this as a comment while I proceed to try what you recommended!
Thank you very much!

This not work for me Anthony… :sob:

The only thing I achieved as an “advance” is that when applying the fix that you suggested Anthony D5 it starts, it does not freeze, but it simply shows the following.

Hi @FrancoCiarrocca

Sorry for this issue.
Can you also share this page of Task Manager with me? What’s the capacity of the ‘dedicated GPU memory’? Thank you.

Thank you Leah_li for your collaboration. I leave you attached the image of the details of my GPU.

Greetings and thanks!

Thanks! Just for confirmation, Has System Info been showing ‘unknown graphics card’ since version 2.3? Have you ever used D5 properly before?

Please use the support tool to collect a log file and send it to me directly or to our mailbox (support@d5techs.com) You can refer to this post on how to collect logs: D5 Support Tool and attach a link to this post in the email.

Then, I’ll confirm with the team further and get back to you.

Thanks for responding so quickly!

The main problem with D5 is that I can’t start any new version after 2.3. Every time I install a new version, the program starts for a second or two and automatically closes without letting me perform any operations. That photo that mentions that it does not recognize the GPU is from when I removed all the video drivers and started the latest version of D5, version 2.9. But of course, as the image indicates there, it does not allow me to continue working because I do not meet the minimum requirements.

I carried out many tests, 0 Windows installations, studio drivers and game ready, etc., etc. I even followed Anthony’s steps who suggested I remove some specific folders from the AppData and Roamming path on my system, then reinstall the version. Newer than D5, but the problem continues to this day.

In short, it is impossible for me to open any version other than 2.3

Hi

Yes, It seems not to read your graphics card. Please send me your log file~

In the meantime, please download and run Benchmark to check the result.

D5 Render Benchmark

Thanks for your help Leah… I only get this message. Impossible to even do the Benchmark I cry…

Got it. Let me know when you’ve finished sending the log file.

Thanks for your response Leah, but tell me how can I access the Log file if I can’t run Benchmark?

I don’t see where to get the Log you’re asking for.

Thank you!

Hello, can you find it by opening the D5 file path and then double-clicking the “SupportTool”?

If yes, please send us the zziplog folder, thank you.

OK Leah, thank you for your enormous help.
