VR movement (teleport) buttons not responding

D5 Render 2.4
RTX 2080 Super
Driver 528.24
VR Controller buttons not responding. Using HTC Vive Cosmos. Running Vive Console, then Steam VR starts when I open D5. So the VR is up and running ok, and I can look around and see my pointer with the footprints, but when I pull the trigger on either controller nothing happens. The pointer is moving around when I move the controller too. I just can’t move myself around the scene. Did a controller test in Steam VR and all the buttons work ok.

Hi mate, to confirm, the trigger of controller on the right hand cannot work? If you work around with the device, will you move in the scene?

Have the same issue. Controller buttons on valve index not working.

Hi Oliver,

In all other app the controller respond and work perfectly.

I have HTC VIVE.

There are any solution…

Best regards

Hi! I bought a pro license especially for the VR feature. It worked great with my Oculus Quest 1 until a few months ago. Now when demoing using the VR mode today, the teleporting is not responding to any button presses on the controllers. Also, the tracking of the controller is sometimes broken (spinning endlessly). But even when it tracks the controller ok, the button presses do not work.

Please kindly prioritize this as it makes VR pretty useless and I paid/pay for that feature.

Hi @d5render5

I apologize for the inconvenience. Since you have mentioned that it was working well up until a month ago, were there any specific actions that may have triggered this issue? Perhaps:

  • After a D5 Render Version update?
  • VR Driver Update?
  • Windows Update?

Hi!

It was working up until a few months ago, not up until a month ago. I can’t recall which of application, driver or os update might have broken it but all three from time to time wants or even forces updates.

Right now I’m running D5 Render 2.10.1.0579. I can see that I initially downloaded D5 2.7.0 2024-04-28. Is there any way to see logs of when D5 updates were installed?

Quest is now running version 455911241. For the meta quest link software I can see in its log that it updated 14 days ago, 19 days ago, 21 days ago, 3 updates a month ago, 3 updates 2 months ago and 1 update 3 months ago. There are no details on what might have changed in these updates. And I don’t think it is possible to roll back.

If you want me to run any debug builds/binaries or so I’d gladly help.

Hi @d5render5

Alright, can you generate a log file for us? You may send it to me directly here via Forum Direct Message.

Hi again! When I was about to dump log files today the Quest app wanted to upgrade both app + drivers, so I did. And the problem went away. Good that it works, doesn’t feel stable at all but perhaps not your fault then!

Hi @d5render5

Alright, thanks for letting us know!
