D5 screen freeze

Can anyone help me about this issue that I have with using D5?

I cannot use the renderer because it keeps on crashing and screen freezing, I dont know what else to do. I am worried about my laptop because I keep on force restarting the laptop because of the screen freeze. Nothing is working on my end. I hope someone can help.

Hi @egie_tinga

Sorry for the inconvenience caused. It sounds like your crash and freezing issues may be related to recent AMD driver compatibility. The newest driver version is known to cause loading failures, crashes, and screen freezes in D5 Render 2.11.

The most reliable workaround is to roll back your AMD driver to the previous stable version. Once rolled back, your projects in D5 2.11 should open normally.

You can find more information and the driver download link here:

Please try this and let us know if the issue persists. Thanks!

Hello, thank you for the response. If I may, what is the version of AMD driver that I can use?

Hi @egie_tinga

Follow the workaround process in the link I attached and download the driver version there.

I tried, I have Error 182 - AMD Software Installer detected AMD graphics hardware in your system configuration that is not supported.

Hi @egie_tinga

Sorry about that. Did you remove the files from the two directories below before rolling back?
\AppData\Local\AMD\DxcCache
\AppData\Local\AMD\DxCache

Hi @egie_tinga

Apologies, could you please first send a screenshot of your System Info panel in D5? This will help us confirm which GPU D5 is detecting.

It seems D5 Render cannot run on your processor, integrated Radeon Graphics of the AMD Ryzen 7 4800H processor because the software requires a dedicated graphics card that supports hardware ray tracing. Integrated GPUs are not supported.

Hi @egie_tinga

Thanks for sending the details. It makes sense, the Error 182 you’re seeing means the AMD driver installer detected that your system does not have a supported AMD GPU, so it refuses to install the driver. Since your GPU registered in D5 is NVIDIA, and your CPU is AMD.

This error usually appears when you’re trying to install an AMD graphics driver, but your system does not have an AMD GPU, or the driver package doesn’t match your specific hardware.

What should I do now?

Hi @egie_tinga , I’ve sent you a DM, please check your inbox

Thank youuuu.
