Hello, I’m having a serious issue with D5 Render crashing during video rendering (both mp4 and sequence). The render fails even at 720p. The scene is large and definitely demanding in terms of RAM and VRAM (both are used at around 90%). I’m attaching the specifications of my computer and the d5_immerse log (should I include any other logs?).
I’ve already tried running the program as administrator and modifying TDR values in the registry, but it didn’t help. There are many variables that could be causing the crash, and sometimes the render does succeed. However, if the camera is closer to elements like grass, or if wind effects are enabled, the program crashes during rendering. I’m unable to identify what exactly is causing the issue.
I would be very grateful for your help - I have a large project to complete and very limited time.
Here’s the information you asked for. As I mentioned earlier, both RAM and VRAM are heavily loaded, and this issue doesn’t occur in an empty project. However, I still think this shouldn’t cause a crash, maybe just a longer rendering time. What should I do next? I’ve already gone through everything from the guide you sent me, and nothing has worked.
I have the impression that over time I’ve been able to render at lower and lower resolutions, even though I haven’t added anything to the project. At first it crashed at 4K, then at 2K, then at Full HD, and now I’m having issues even at 720p. I deleted the f2 folder, but that didn’t help either. I have enough free disk space. I tested both the Game Ready and Studio drivers from Nvidia, and there’s no difference.
It seems that rendering distant views or wide shots works, but when the camera is close to grass or trees, the render crashes. I think it would be really helpful if there were a guide about scene optimization: the number of lights, objects, world size, texture memory usage, and so on.
We can test your file on our device and see if the crash occurs. If the results result to no crashing, then the VRAM is overloaded as you have mentioned and needs further file optimization.
If you agree, you may send your files to support@d5techs.com and have it titled Clov-Forum D5 Render crashing during render.
Since you have mentioned that on specific views, where it seems that rendering distant views or wide shots works, but when the camera is close to grass or trees, the render crashes.
We would really appreciate if you can include a video recording and screenshot showing this issue.
About Scene Optimization.
File Optimization involves reducing Vegetation assets or even hiding them on scenes where they are not visible.
Disabling Path Tracing
Running Smooth Mode
The list goes on~
For now, we’re working on optimizing overall D5 File creation.
