D5 freezes & crashes during rendering

Graphics Card: RTX 2060 6GB
Driver Version: 516.94
Issue Description: D5 crashes during rendering and preview rendered
Screenshots/Videos Description: when I do the rendering part it just freezes and automatically close and huge CPU usage its like 3 software of d5 render running (out of the 3, 2 are running in the background processes) and I barely use it for just like 1-5mins then it closed. I tried to run it as administrator and restart after the welcome page but still same scenario. i tried also to install previous driver for the graphics card since the newer version one still have the same issue like this. can u help me how to fix this?

Hi mate, how large is the RAM? Maybe it is out of memory usage. If you render an empty scene, will it crash as well?

Hello Sir Oliver, my RAM is 24gb and only the d5 is running including the 2 d5 software in the background. it does notify me sometimes that it was out of memory but most of the case is due to high CPU usage when i used the d5 render it always 100% (which is only the software running) and by the way my Processor is i5-10300H CPU @2.50GHz. for your question, as i’ve tried it right now, yes it does crash when i tried to render in 2k.

Hi mate, is the CPU overclocked? Also, now please upgrade to 2.4 then test based on it.

Good day, i would like to update you about the 2.4 version of d5, I’ve barely used it for like 1-2mins and it automatically closed. and i dont know if the cpu is overlocked sir, since i only used lenovo vantage to change the thermal mode of the laptop to maximum perfomance. i just install the previous version but still i can used it longer than the newer version and although it automically closed.

I’m using D5 Render Pro, but for the last 4-5 projects, I’ve been struggling with sudden crashes while working. It happens regardless of whether the scene is heavy or light, and it’s incredibly frustrating. I might have to format my computer just because of this issue.

D5 should consider compensating users in such cases. I’ve seen many people experiencing the same problem, yet I haven’t seen any real solutions provided.

Please help, as I have multiple deadlines ahead, and I don’t have time to deal with formatting my system. D5RENDER 2.9.1 / AMD Ryzen 9 7950x / RTX3090 / 64GB RAM

I apologize for the inconvenience this issue has caused. Can you please confirm if this crashing occurs in all of your files or is it file-specific?

  • If the problem only exists with the current project or some of the scene files, it is likely that the file is too heavy and is taking up too much video memory, exceeding the load of your current device, and you need to lighten and optimize your file. Sorry but I think you didn’t read my post carefully. The crashes occur randomly either in heavy and light scenes. After launching the program it closes after a while even at very light scenes. It is not project specific. It is happening in my last 4-5 projects. Some of them are heavy some of them are light. I will try my best to send you the above parameters.

Have you tried opening a demo scene file and seeing if there are crashes? You may want to try Residence Lawn, it is a D5 File with only 779 MB file size.

Additionally, the images I have asked for you to send is really important for us to troubleshoot this issue. Please note that it would be ideal if your D5 Render File while monitoring the VRAM in Task Manager. Anyways, I await for these information to be sent. Thank you.
