Very Slow Performance - Large model yet very low GPU, CPU and RAM usage

Hi,

We are using the latest D5 Render versions, on two very powerful PCs. The models are somewhat large, which understandingly may cause slow performance. However the performance sensors are very low on all hardware…

The slow performance is not allowing us to work properly, more than two hours to open the file, or even save it, 10+hours to render low resolution videos…
We have followed online D5 recommendations to increase PC performance and the issue persists…
We are wondering if we are missing a crucial setting somewhere to allow for more usage of the GPU, etc…?

Thanks for your support,

Hi @kynan.harb,

I apologize for the inconvenience. I recommend monitoring your VRAM usage by checking the sensor-memory used parameter with (GPU-Z Graphics Card GPU Information Utility). This will help us determine if the issue is related to memory usage.

Additionally, please try deleting the F2 folder. You can find more information regarding this in the article: [Hot Issue] TDR Problems and Out of Memory Crash Related Issues - Get Help - D5 RENDER FORUM.

Please refrain from updating the assets after deleting the F2 folder until the scene is properly optimized. For tips on scene optimization, you can visit How to View and Optimize Graphics Card Usage? | User Manual.

Thank you!
