Unbind device EDU

Hello,

I’m a student at Istituto Marangoni and I’m using the EDU version of D5 Render. My account is 097677@istitutomarangoni.org, and I’m receiving the message “Please log in with your Edu account on the bound device.”

I no longer have access to the old bound device and need to unbind it so I can use my EDU account on my new computer.

Thank you for your help,

Hana Giulia Khamash

Hi @097677

Educational license is a ‘‘fixed-seat’’ license, which means your EDU account is limited to only one particular computer during its duration of validity. You can reapply after your license expires with your new device.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply. The reason I am requesting to unbind my previous device is that it was incompatible with D5 Render — I wasn’t able to run the software properly due to hardware limitations. For this reason, I have purchased a new computer specifically to use D5 for my academic projects.

Would it be possible for you to manually unbind the old device on your end, so that I can continue using my active EDU license on my new computer?

Thank you very much for your understanding and support.

Best regards,

Hi @097677

You may need to wait for your current student license to expire before you can reapply with your new device. :disappointed_relieved:

Hi, thank you for your message.

Unfortunately, I really need to use D5 for this current academic year, as it’s an essential tool for my coursework at Istituto Marangoni. My previous device was incompatible with D5, which is why I bought a new computer specifically to run the software.

Would it be possible for you to manually unbind my old device on your end, so that I can continue using my existing EDU license on the new one? I’d be very grateful for your help, as I rely on D5 for several ongoing university projects.

Thank you again for your understanding and time,
Hana Giulia Khamash
