Hello: I have the latest D5 version and was hoping that there was a new tool that allows you to align the camera view to a plane like Sketchup does to get a true orthographic elevation I tried saving elevation scenes in Sketchup and syncing those to D5, but only perspective scenes will sync, not orthographic scenes. The orthographic views set in D5 are set to a particular orientation and do not align true to the elevation. Any insights?
I believe you need to change the perspective configuration on D5 on the top corner camera menu from ‘‘perspective’’ to ‘‘two point perspective’’
Thanks for the reply. I believe that will only straighten the verticals. I am looking for a way to setup and control true elevational orthgraphics
Thanks for the advice about the true orthographic elevation, after the section was released these days, many users also mention that. We will consider making it better.
I did find a work around. When models are imported in, the axis are usually off angle from the orthogonal views set by D5. My work around was to get all the content in, then group everything. I went to the top view and was able to rotate the group to get very close to where I could get close to true elevations. I recorded the angle so I could rotate back to zero, the default angle the model was imported in. A rotated view option is really needed which would include an align face similar to sketchup. This way, the view is rotated. not the model. Hope this gets on the wish list.
Thanks, we will support it in the future, please stay tuned!
