The quality of renders is low

Hello! Our arch bureau is the active user of d5, we are doing architectural renders from Sketchup. Last 2 weeks i noticed that the quality of renders, materials, architecture lines, windows etc. became very bad. It happened on the 7th of May approximately. I thought maybe it is for few days while updating, how it was already before, on the 24 of February, but now is already 2 weeks that d5 render doesn’t work as before. Last projects i had to render in Enscape because of this problem.
Please look at the examples: the first one is the last that i managed to do in D5 good, on the 5th of May.

And the second picture is the one that i tried to do on the 8th of May, and it was already awful.

The settings were the same, and then I tried other settings too, at the end I downloaded the previous version - 2.9.1, started to be a little bit better (with other settings than in the version 2.10) but still not as perfect as it used to be. I hope that you will fix smth in your wonderful application that we can use it further with pleasure! Thank you and have a wonderful day!

Hi @romische

You’ve mentioned that this file was working well with 2.9.1 and has a different environmental / effect appearance when opened in 2.10.

  • 2.10 adjusted the sensitivity of auto exposure to accommodate the new night sky effect (to prevent overexposure), which resulted in scenes with auto exposure in the original 2.9 version becoming darker in 2.10. We may optimize it accordingly in subsequent releases.

Solution

1. Continue to use 2.10:

  • Turn off Auto Exposure switch
  • Manually adjust exposure parameters
    image
  • Update all scenes, videos and render queues.

2. Need to fully maintain the original effect:

Please consider rolling back to 2.9 version to finish the project:
