D5 Render Version: 2.10.2.0589
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon RX 6700XT
Driver Version: 25.6.1
Issue Description: Every time I try to apply a material — even in a brand new file — I get the message: “The material of the model cannot be reused.”
I’ve tried everything. I even opened the same file on another computer, and it worked perfectly there.
However, I need it to work on my main PC.

Hi @LukGuidi
How was this model created or brought to D5 Render? Were you using:
- Live-sync?
- Or direct import?
Please check if this model is:
- Significantly away from the origin, if so, please move it closer to 0,0 or simply set its X and Y axes to 0,0
- There are instances where, if the model is too large, this error prompt will show; please check if this model is sized normally.
- Since this only happens to this specific device then please check the model’s file location whether you have “Full-Control” of the folder.
Hi, the file I used in the example photo is a new file created in D5. Previously, I used a model created in Rhino, which I imported into D5 using LiveSync and also directly, but it never worked for me.
In the case of the Rhino model, it was heavy, but when I imported it on another device, I was able to apply the materials without any issues.
HOWEVER, thanks to your idea of giving “full control” to the folder where the model was located, I figured that since the problem was with textures, maybe the folder where the materials were stored was the one causing issues. So I went into the “D5 WorkSpace” folder and gave it “full control”, and also unchecked the “read-only” box.
This solved the problems, thank you so much for your help!!! Really appreciate it!
