Is there a way to make the subsurface material reflect in the mirror ?
**D5 Render Version: 2.6.1
Hi, have you checked if the emissive material has light reflected on the materials, it also adjusts. Or put the D5 light in the wall lamp above and below giving that brightness. Then I have a doubt whether your image is taken from the program or is it a render. Because in the program it shows it this way but in the renders it shows the exact reflection
Hi, Riccardo, thank for the reply, the attachmed image above i took from the result render,
Hi, ok you did what I intended, you got some results. But in the image from above from the program I see that the reflection makes shadows on the wall. This shouldn’t happen, but it will show up on the rendering engine. You tried rendering without D5 lights positioned, I told you that usually the program with the emissive lights in the reflections of a mirror did not reflect the light, but if you do the rendering perhaps the problem wasn’t there, then you updated the graphics card ?
yeah I still figure out how to get a good reflection using subsurface material, I use Nvidia studio driver for my graphics card, and its already updated, have you gotten a reflection in the mirror from subsurface material?
Thanks for sharing this.
Hello! I suggest that you can give your lampshade cloth material template to create a translucent effect. If it’s convenient you can also send me your scenario or part of the scenario related to this problem to check. (support@d5techs.com, please attach the link of this post to your email and please describe the problem)
Hi @LunaLang !
i made some test to achieve this transluscent effect, and it seems to work only with point lights. Is it a normal behavior of D5 or i’m doing wrong when i setup for exemple a rectangular light.
Last question: Is it possible to disable the shadows created by the lightsource when working with a transluscent material? For exemple i use a lot of transluscent glass in my projets, and i would like to avoid shadows on mullion for a curtain wall (like the setting we can use on emissive material).
Hello. It is currently a known issue that the light source inside the subsurface material does not show up in the mirror. You can pay attention to it.
Hi @LunaLang thanks for the reply,
Yes for the translucent effect i already satisfied with subsurface material, i think it looks good, only the issue that it doesnt reflect the same translucent effect on the mirror, there will fixed on the next update maybe ?
We have plans for translucent material. I believe this material will be added in the future.
