Hello D5 team,
(or community – if someone has experienced the same issue, I’d love your input too!)
I am a third-year architecture student at École Camondo in Paris.
I submitted an application for the D5 Render educational license using a valid, official student certificate – yet my request was refused without any explanation, and I still don’t have access to the student version.
I’m now stuck in an awkward position where I can’t use the software I had planned for my school projects, and I may have to switch to another rendering tool.
The confusing part:
In the license application form, there’s a section asking for information about a professor (name and email).
However, I use D5 for several classes and projects across different subjects, without a single supervising teacher. Like many students, I work autonomously or under general guidance from different faculty members – not one single person.
So I’m not sure what’s expected in this field:
- Should I provide any teacher’s name, even if they’re not directly involved?
- Is this field mandatory?
- Could that be the reason why my request was rejected?
- I submitted a valid and signed certificate of enrollment from my school.
- My application clearly stated that this is a use for educational purposes in the context of my architectural coursework.
I would really appreciate clarification from the D5 team, or feedback from others who may have faced the same issue.
Thanks in advance for your help – I really want to keep using D5 for my academic work.
Best regards,
Ethan Helbig
