Good day! I work with together! After I reinstalled my Windows, I open a project that worked before, D5 does not find the root of the old project but opens it as a new project and I have to install the materials again!! Although when I started it pointed to the old file
Hi there,
I apologize for the inconvenience. Was the SKP model that was linked to your D5 File moved or perhaps renamed? Have you also checked your file’s version history? Also, can you please reupload the photo you have attached here, it seems that it can not be opened. Thank you.
Hi again,
Another follow-up question:
-
When you opened the D5 Render File was there a pop-up window similar to this? And which did you select?
-
After you have reinstalled the windows, were there some changes in file path?
-
Is the SKP Model or D5 File stored locally or in cloud?
Hi =)Good day! I open an old project, I have an old and a new project, the layer is superimposed on each other
Good day! I just transferred all the data to a new computer, all the files are in place without changes, I can’t understand why it opens as a new project, although I do everything according to the instructions
Hi there,
You may have selected “new” instead of selecting the old model file in the list and replace. This is usually the case if files were created and have not been opened for a while; as long as the SKP file where the linkage was established was not changed or renamed, the materials inserted in the D5 File should retain.
Unless these files were stored in cloud storage (Google Drive, Onedrive), which will cause some instability, such as materials losing their information, thus converting it into a white model, or simply missing assets. If this is the case, we do recommend downloading and storing these files in your local storage and then opening them.
no I keep all the files on the SSD disk))) and I didn’t change anything everything was in one folder! and I tried other projects too the same problem doesn’t work
Hi there,
I want to ensure that I understand your situation correctly. It appears that your scene initially contained two SketchUp models, one new and one old, each placed on separate layers and overlapped to create two variants. However, upon reopening the scene file, only one model retained its materials, while the other model lost its materials.

Based on the images you sent, it seems that one model was brought into D5 through Livesync, and the other through import. Could you please confirm if you used syncing plug-ins, direct reading, or both for these SKP models?
-
Could you also provide a detailed workflow so we can further identify if this is a bug or suggest the best possible solution?
Please correct me if my understanding is incorrect. I look forward to your response. Thank you so much.
good afternoon! I solved the problem as I understood with Sketchup 2024 it does not work correctly installed version 23
Hi there,
I’m glad that you were able to solve and figure out the issue. Can you also perhaps elaborate on how you were able to resolve it? Thank you.
Hello! After replacing my PC, I installed the latest version of Sketchup on Windows 11, well, as I understand, there are bugs between Sketchup and D5, the new version of Sketchup does not see the root of D5, I solved the problem by installing a lower version
