Scatter Settings Lost After Closing File

**D5 Render Version: D5 2.11
Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 TI Super
Driver Version: 566.36
**Issue Description:**once I close the file, the Scatter loses all its internal references, and I can no longer find all the various settings related to the type of vegetation placed inside the Scatter.

Steps to Reproduce (optional):

Hi @mjb.mic

Can you please send us a screenshot? May I know how this file was opened?

  • Is it via Launcher?
  • or perhaps opening the .drs file?

Additionally, does this happen to all of your files? Or specific only?

Please confirm the questions asked, if it is deemed similar to the ones that are being experienced from this forum topic: Scene without vegetation when I load it via the launcher! - #5 by Clov

I may need to collect your scene + log files.

Sometimes one or more of my scatters within a project will disappear, but when I search “scatter” it is there and needs to be reapplied which is ok as long as there wasn’t a cull applied as I always need to re-do them.

Hi @3DG

By disappear, does it abruptly happen while you’re working on this specific file? Or after you reopened it after closing it for some time?

It only happens when I reopen a file, but it’s not every time. I always open files from within Sketchup using the Sync.

hello,
I have the same problem sometimes, and today
I don’t know when the scatter disappeared, but it was created yesterday thanks to the AI agent. I always saved carefully, and I have nothing left. I checked that it wasn’t hidden, I revealed everything.

The file was opened directly from the .drs file.
I can say that I have practically solved the issue, since I updated the graphics card drivers, which had not yet been done.

Now the problem no longer occurs; the only inconvenience that remains is that, when I render the scene in parallel (non-perspective) view, the vegetation is not displayed. However, the Scatter objects are correctly loaded.

In all other rendering modes, referring to the different view types, everything works correctly.
Thanks!!!

Hi @3DG

Just to confirm, does modifying the parameters of the scatter make it appear?

As for @julienfischel

Even the “Scatter” object list disappeared?

We’re closely monitoring and investigating this issue, if possible, please submit your log files + scene files (where the scatter disappeared) to support@d5techs.com and have it titled 2.11 Clov-Forum Scatter Settings Lost After Closing File

Please let me know if you have sent it already

Hi @mjb.mic

Please monitor if it still occurs after some time.

  • May I know your previous Driver Version? and which Driver Version did you update to?

It reappears if I just reapply the same parameters, but the ‘brush culls’ I applied have to be re-done

I’ll keep monitoring to see if the issue reoccurs over time.

My previous GPU driver version was 566.36, and I’ve updated to the latest release 580.97. Since then, I can confirm that I haven’t experienced any further problems with Scatter.

However, I’ve noticed that in parallel projection (axonometric) mode, the Scatter objects are not visible. Honestly, I think this might be a current limitation of the software.

Thank you very much for your support and assistance.

Hi @3DG

I can’t seem to replicate it on my end. Can you send us a video recording of the exact process? We will try to replicate it on our end, and if we still can’t replicate it, then we may need to ask for your file and log files. Thank you.

Hi @mjb.mic

Alright, thanks for your update~

As for the parallel projection issue, it is currently a known issue and will be fixed in the upcoming 2.11 HotFix version.
