Hello Djasim2014,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused by this problem. First, when saving a scene file of 2GB, you may need to leave at least 4gb for it, because there are some cache files and D5 will delete them until next time you open them. So we want to confirm whether there is enough space to save the scene file.

Second, does the problem happen to a specific file or many different files? If you open an empty scene file then save it to the same location as other files, will the error message come out?

At last, if the problem remains, please show us a screenshot of your file explorer( you can mask personal info), and let us know in which drive you want to save files.

Besides, please let us know your version number( you mentioned you are using 1.9.0, which is not supported now, but from the picture you are using 2.0 or 2.1), this is important for troubleshooting.

Also, your video driver is a little old(456.71), which cannot work with D5 very well. I would suggest you upgrade the Nvidia video driver to a latest version. Official Drivers | NVIDIA

hello @Oliver.J
I’ve updated driver and the version is the latest, still facing the same problems many a times.
I’m facing this problem in multiple files randomly.
Please help and solve this problem as my work is getting disturbed a lot because of this issue.

Hello, could you please send a sample scene file which has this problem(the whole scene file folder) to ziyin.zhu@d5techs.com for further troubleshooting?
Also, please send me two folders that contain logs.

  1. A folder called logs, in the installation directory of D5 2.1
  2. A folder called Saved, in C:/Users/your account/AppData/local/d5_immerse

We will check them as soon as possible, sorry for the inconvenience!

Hello djasim2014, I have received your email, checked the logs file you sent and probably found the issue cause: Your scene file is about 4.4GB, while the hard disc where stores it has only 10.1 GB remained, which may be not enough to edit and save the file.

Let me explain, although the scene file is 4.4GB, after we open it and start editing, D5 Render will create some temporary files and caches (For example, you inserted some materials or models, but did not like them so you delete them). According to our file saving logic, those deleted items will not be removed instantly, but when the project is saved and D5 Render is reopened.

The above is why we need hard disc to be greater than three times that of the scene file.
I will send details to your email, and hope this post can help more users who encounter the same problem.

Hello
I’m having a problem saving my file. I have a worked file and saved all my settings. Then I saved my file and exited the program. But when I wanted to open my file again, my file was not opened. When I looked at the size of the file, it was 42kb. I created and saved my work again, but when I looked at the place where I saved my control file without exiting the program, this file was also seen as 42 kb. I have saved many different files but all the files I have saved appear to be the same size. What is the reason of this ?

Hi mate, I think you may misunderstand the file structure of D5 Project files. A project file is a folder which contains assets, Backup, resources and other folders, as well as a .drs file.
The 42kb file should be the .drs file? It will not be able to open unless you have other folders inside the project folder.
