Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 395

Hello to Support Team,
does D5 Render work with new AMD processor Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 395? It has integrated graphics card Radeon RX 8060S. Cannot find any info.

Thank you for your reply.

Hi @be-archi

D5 is heavily reliant on dedicated GPUs. Ryzen AI Max PRO 395 is a processor/CPU; it doesn’t really have a significant impact on D5 since the software draws its power from your dedicated GPU.

Thank you for you reply. Maybe I asked wrong, but I am interested in buying laptop with Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 395 CPU just with its integrated GPU Radeon RX 8060S. There is no dedicated GPU in that laptop. RX 8060S is quite powerful integrated GPU. My question is, if it works well for rendering with D5?

Hi @be-archi

There’s a possibility it might work, but we highly don’t suggest buying a device with only an integrated GPU

@ Clov. I’m extremely interested in this as well, because 8060s has been said to have the performance of a 3070/4070 GPU, and where else will you get a whopping 96 GB VRAM, if you buy the 395 AI MAX with 128 GB ram on the motherboard for that kind of money. You could buy like five full AMD 395 AI MAX computer systems for one dedicated Nvidia with the same amount of GPU memory. So my question is also if you could get your hands on this configuration and verify the compatibility, or just update your data when others with this setup post their scores. Thank you:+1::blush:

Hi @sergio.stockfleth

Our User Self Test data shows that several users are using the device you have mentioned.

Hi, any updates on this? How does the integrated graphics run d5 render?

Hi @cruzrobee23

The Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 395 integrated GPU (iGPU) is indeed more advanced than typical integrated graphics. However, for D5 Render, the overall impact doesn’t change significantly.

D5 Render relies heavily on real-time ray tracing, which requires:

  • Dedicated GPU power
  • Hardware ray tracing support
  • Adequate VRAM

On integrated graphics, you’ll typically encounter issues such as failure to launch or frequent crashes, extremely low FPS if the application manages to open, missing or incorrect lighting and reflections, and severe lag even in very simple scenes. In many cases, D5 Render may also block startup entirely if the GPU does not meet the minimum system requirements.
