As it currently stands, version 3.0 has some bugs that are forcing me to revert to previous version that was more stable.
In general, 3.0 feels a bit faster but render times seam way slower for images and for animations. Even the Render Preview (F4) takes longer.
The other main issue is that AI Upscale and Style Transfers are not working. I’m sure this will be fixed soon, but as i have an active project i have to complete it is very inconvenient.
With the D5 Launcher we got with D5 2.11. i was kind of expecting that we could have multiple versions of D5 installed if we wanted… similar how Unreal Engine works. I was really surprised when i saw that was not the case after updating to D5 3.0. I really want this feature enabled, because then it would be less of an issue if a new version has bugs and we can use the previous stable version to work on projects. (I will submit this in Ideas & Requests).
For now, please provide a direct link to D5 2.11. so that i can revert to it and complete ongoing project.
Thanks for the feedback regarding the 3.0 version.
The problem you mentioned about “render times seem way slower for images and for animations”, could you please share a test file, so we can compare on our end?
Can you use other AI features normally, except for AI Enhancer? Click it, but no response?
I will check with my client if i can share the file.
Yesterday the AI features worked fine. Today the mentioned features are not working. I didn’t test other ones. But yes, “click it but no response” is what i was getting.
Our team is working on fixing AI issues. Considering you are on an urgent deadline, we want to provide a temporary solution for you to have a try. Please check your DM.
I will try this method when reverting to 2.11. What file path do you suggest for installing multiple versions? The default is set to C:\User*USERNAME*\AppData\Roaming\D5 Render
It seems an easy option for D5 Team to implement this out-of-box. And have them listed as tabs next to each other, rather then requiring going through the three dots menu.
