Real Time Quality : Smooth Render

While in the D5 workspace, I want to press F2 to render. I want to use a screenshot in the AI-based system, but I want to do it with the output that comes with pressing F2 (Real Time Quality: Smooth). A direct screenshot won’t show details clearly, so I need a high-resolution output. Is this possible? Or will it ever be possible in the future?

Hi @Furkan

This is currently not possible with D5 Render, but I think you can use other third-party software that supports taking high-quality screenshots. We’ll consider this request and have it forwarded to our team.

Additionally, it might be best to also post this in Ideas & Request if there are no similar suggestions.

Is it easy to integrate this into D5? It’s an image we already see when we press F2. There are no shadows or anything. Rendering it would be very easy.

Hi @Furkan

I may have misunderstood your suggestion. So basically, you’re requesting the ability to export a high-resolution image that matches the visual appearance of the F2 Smooth (Real-Time Quality) view via a screenshot?

While it may seem straightforward since the image is already displayed when pressing F2 , implementing it isn’t necessarily that simple. Whether it can be integrated into D5 depends on the results of the team’s research and technical evaluation. They’ll need to assess factors such as feasibility, compatibility with the existing rendering pipeline, performance impact, and overall development priority before deciding whether the suggestion can be implemented.

Yes, that’s exactly what I’m talking about. With F2 active, a high-resolution screenshot (like in Sketchup) or a separate option could be added to the rendering page. This would significantly shorten the render processing time or make exporting the screenshot much faster. Because there wouldn’t be any mathematical calculations for shadows, lighting, etc., we only need the details in the high-resolution project.

Have you consulted the team? Is this a possible update? Could you provide more detailed information on this? I’m curious about the technical team’s opinion and the likelihood of this happening soon.

Hi @Furkan

Yes, I have already consulted our team about this request. At the moment, we still can’t provide a definitive answer on whether this feature will be added or when it might become available.

The team is aware of your suggestion and understands the benefit it could bring, but we don’t have any updates or a timeline to share for now.

  • I think posting this in Ideas and Requests is also a priority since we’re always on the lookout for suggestions in that forum category.

Thank you for your understanding, and we’ll share any news if there are updates in the future.

I shared this in the Ideas and Requests section. However, not everyone may have an idea of what this request should address. Therefore, it’s likely to be overlooked.

It’s been important to us that the D5 Render team listens to user requests. They will surely take this request into account and implement it. I hope to see this update implemented as soon as possible. Thank you.
