Problem installing D5 Launcher

Steps to Reproduce (optional):

Hi,

Today I saw there was an update in D5 Render (I was version 2.9 and there was an update to 2.11). So I opened D5 Render and clicked update. Then, before it was completed, a window popped up saying “Installation Failed”. I went to the D5 Render website and it said that I should first download D5 Launcher before I install D5. So, I unistalled the current version I had of D5 Render and downloaded the D5 Launcher. But when I tried to install D5 Launcher, a window popped up saying that I should wait for an install to end before I install this one. But I don’t have any install going on, I checked in Task Manager.
What do I do now? I don’t have D5 installed in my laptop now and I can’t get it to be installed in any way. I need it for my work, I would appreciate a reply.

Thanks in advance.

Hi @ia21675050

Try restarting your device, and check in your Control Panel if you still have D5 Render and completely remove it.

  • After completely uninstalling, install the launcher again > then download 2.11

Please let me know of the results.

I am having the same problem.
I have discussed the issue with our IT partner and they cant find a solution.

Hi @f.garcia

Did you download the latest D5 Launcher version from our official website? Can you send me a screenshot?

  • Also, please ensure that no antivirus or firewall software is blocking the installation.
  • Ensure that you have full control of the folder where the D5 Launcher is placed.

You can try downloading the full package in this link: Download Package but you will need to have D5 Launcher first, you can save this link for future usage.

I couldn’t find the problem, so an employee of the D5 Team Tech Support gave me the idea to get access to my laptop through Ultraviewer and do the installation himself. I agreed, it took 2 days, but he did it successfully. Now I can use D5 Launcher and D5 Render normally.

He said I couldn’t install it, because of these:

  1. The process was being blocked by my firewall.
  2. I couldn’t install D5 Render after, because there was a device misidentification caused by two graphics cards and resource allocation issues.
  3. Permissions also played a role.

All in all, I highly recommend that you allow a D5 Tech Support employee have access to your laptop and make the installation himself. He knows what he is doing.

Have a nice day!
