D5 Render Version: 2.11 Graphics Card: rtx 5090 Driver Version: Nvidia studio driver 591.74 Issue Description: D5 is faulty/corrupt? Screenshots/Videos Description: Steps to Reproduce (optional):
Hello! I need some urgent help from admin.
I am experiencing several issues (version 2.11) with D5 render since moving into a new office with a new computer.
I work on two different computers (at home and in the office) but only have one licence.
These are some of the issues I am experiencing:
Saved scenes in scenelist changes randomly when navgiating between scenes, or when reopening D5.
Materials is missing. Some objects in my local library have also lost materials.
The lighting is off/defect. I have worked in D5 render for several years (I know my way around lighting), but now nothing looks good, everything looks flat. Also, my saved presets in D5s studio is defect/corrupt.
on my work computer all presets (and default lighting setup) is very orange looking (as if white balance was set at max - 12000). If I save the preset and open it on my home computer it looks normal.
I can not click on objects to scale or move them. I have to manually search for every object in the object list to select them. I have already checked if they are locked, but they are not. Sometimes some objects is clickable, but not all.
Bloom is also off/defect, I have to have bloom on almost 0, for the scene not to look burned.
Ai no longer works. Sometimes AI does not even show up as an option, other times AI post-processing will open, but will never finish (onlys says wait - the shuts it self off).
I am experiencing issues (sometimes different ones) on both computers.
the issues started 1.5 weeks ago (monday 05.01.2026).
This is what I have done that might have contributed to D5 being faulty.
In the office my first save was saved on a server (not a local harddrive). D5 render is installed on a local harddrive.
I have since saved a copy on the local harddrive but it has not resolved anything.
I have opened a new project on my home computer, but the issues persists.
I am using the same licence on two different computers.
Both computers are the same - Ryzen amd, rtx5090 card, 64gb ram etc.
I have not manually logged out of D5 when switching computers. I have only turned the program -and the computer off.
I have talked with IT, but they do not know what to do, or why it is happening.
These are my theories:
There might be a firewall in my office that is interferring with D5 render? But why does the issus also happen on my home computer?
Maybe an antivirus software is corrupting the files? Putting them in quarantines?
Can the first save (saved on a server/cloud) have corrupted the files? And then later interferred with D5 (since the issues is now on both computers)?
I am long over due on my project, but I cannot finish the project when it is like this.
Thank you for reaching out and for providing such a detailed explanation of the issues you’re experiencing. I’m sorry for the inconvenience.
Based on your description, the behavior is most often related to a combination of project/configuration corruption and environment conflicts, rather than a single setting.
A few important points stand out:
Saving the project initially on a server/network drive can sometimes cause scene data, materials, presets, or lighting information to become corrupted. Even after copying the file locally, the corruption may persist.
Using one license on two computers without manually logging out can occasionally lead to configuration or sync conflicts, which may explain why issues now appear on both machines.
The lighting inconsistencies, broken presets, object selection issues, bloom behaving incorrectly, and AI failures together strongly suggest local cache or configuration corruption, rather than user error.
AI features rely on stable network access, so firewall or antivirus software could also be contributing, especially if behavior differs between networks.
To help us move forward, could you please confirm the following:
Is any part of the project, asset library, or D5 user folder still stored on a server or cloud-synced location?
Do these issues also occur in a brand-new project created locally (not copied from an existing file)?
When the lighting looks overly orange, do the numeric values (e.g., white balance/color temperature) appear normal?
When objects aren’t clickable in the viewport, are they always selectable from the Object List?
Are there any firewall, antivirus, or endpoint security tools running on either machine?
Does the AI issue also occur when connected to a different network (for example, a mobile hotspot)?
Thank you again for your patience and for taking the time to explain everything so clearly. We’ll do our best to help you get back on track as soon as possible.
Is any part of the project, asset library, or D5 user folder still stored on a server or cloud-synced location? -No. It has never been stored on a server or cloud. It was only the first save (which I worked on for about a week before saving a copy to the local harddrive).
Do these issues also occur in a brand-new project created locally (not copied from an existing file)? -Yes. On both computers.
When the lighting looks overly orange, do the numeric values (e.g., white balance/color temperature) appear normal? -Yes.
When objects aren’t clickable in the viewport, are they always selectable from the Object List? -Yes.
Are there any firewall, antivirus, or endpoint security tools running on either machine? -Not on my home computer. In the other computer in my office, there is a firewall and antivirus (I dont know if there are any endpoint security tools). I have checked with IT though, and they have confirmed that neither the firewall og the antivirus software is the problem.
Does the AI issue also occur when connected to a different network (for example, a mobile hotspot)? -I have not tried a mobile hotspot. But it will not work on my home network, but sometimes it works in the offices network (for example today).
