Hello,
Lately I’m having some problems when syncing Revit with D5, the model keeps chaging coordinates randomly.
I did make sure that the model (in D5) is locked, being unable to use pivot or to do some other kind of change. In Revit, the project it’s in the same place always, due the fact is purely burocratic to move an entire project (140.000 m²).
If ajusting with pivot or syncing to coordinates was the only problem, it would be easy to resolve. Since brush is fixed to a texture/model, when it changes to a random location, the entire brush models disappear. In other cases, the brush models are fixed to the old location of the model.
When tryning to adjust the model with pivot, the brush moves with the model.
It happened almost every project I work with, and it solves itself when syncing multiple times to the point that the project it’s in the right place.
Is it possible I’m doing something wrong, or could be it a D5 bug? I’m using the latest version of D5 Render with the latest drives of my GPU.
Thank you!
Hi there, I am sorry for the inconvenience this issue has caused. Several users also reported the same problem; hence, this issue is known, and we are currently fixing it. As for the workaround or temporary fix, you might want to rotate the model in D5 Manually. I will attach an image comparing the different software’s coordinates after syncing to D5.
Rotating the model by 90 degrees clockwise (If I am not mistaken) would bring you to the same coordinate as what you have set up in Revit.
As for the fix you mentioned, were there necessary steps that you did? or simply resyncing them fixed it on your end? Thank you.
Hello,
I’m happy to know that the issue is known and it’s been fixed.
Sorry if I was not clear about the problem in this case. As the screenshot bellow, the brush is floating. If I try to move the whole model upwards, the brush moves with the model, like it’s fixed.
As a matter of fact, all brushes of this project moved.
For the fix I mentioned, in other projects, it was necessary to have User Survey Point turned off in D5 Render Sync settings on Revit, then trying to resync until it’s on the right coordinate. Sometimes, I do manually when there’s no brush tool on the project.
Thank you for the reply!
Hi there, I apologize for not being able to notice the statements regarding the vegetation model being fixed to the old location. I attempted to recreate the steps you mentioned but was testing it out using the Brush Tool and Scatter Tool. The vegetation created with the brush tool moved along the model when I tried to rotate it, while the assets made with the scatter tool stayed in the old position.
I was unable to recreate the exact environment where the issue was observed since, based on what you said, it was the brush tool that you used to place these assets. Would it be possible for you to send your D5 File so we can test it on our end? If you do agree, let me know ill send our support email and further instructions for it. Thank you so much.
