Material/texture looking pixelated when using triplanar on Rhino 8

D5 Render Version: 2.8.0.0469
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti
Driver Version: 31.0.15.5161

Issue Description:
Hi everyone,

I am a Rhino 8 user and I am having issue with the materials/textures looking pixelated (see screenshots below).

Essentially, when I turn the triplanar toggle on the texture looks very pixelated. Whereas if on turn the triplanar toggle off (and adjust the stretch accordingly), then the texture looks fine. It happens to all materials with texture, not just this one.

Has anyone encountered this issue before ?

Hello. You can try to adjust the UV size of the material with triplanar turned on, and check if the problem still exists after adjusting it to the proper size.

Hi, I’m having the same issue. Adjusting the uv size of the map doesn’t change anything, you can clearly see that the texture size is correct but it’s pixelated. Any thoughts?
I attached a screenshot from my scene with a brick wall texture where you can see the size is correct.

Hi @pe.krynski

  • Does this display normally in Rhino 8?
  • Try modifying the UV Map Category in Rhino then resync it in D5 Render

Hi,
Somehow it worked when I changed the UV map cat. in Rhino from box to surface, even though previously I had to set it the other way around.
Thank you.

HI @pe.krynski

Alright, thanks for your update.
