Is this GPU supported. i need get a laptop and am trying to avoid gaming models. I mostly do simpe interiors. and my desktop with RTX3050 suffices for this. so just need equivent in a non gaming laptop
Hi @duncan
It seems like this NVIDIA RTX GPU is not compatible with D5 Render. I doubled check in our User Self Test data, and there seems to be no users using it. You may also check our benchmark data to see if your desired GPU is compatible with D5: https://benchmark.d5render.com/result
Thanks, i could see that there wasnt any user info. I guess its back the drawing board for a differnt laptop. just try to avoid gaming models with to many flashing lights
Hi @duncan
Hmm, i really do think it’s inevitable to choose gaming laptop when the main purpose is to use D5 Render. D5 Render uses DXR, which is built into Windows systems, and the graphics cards that support DXR are usually found in gaming laptops.
I know you’re worried about all the flashing lights, but there are plenty of gaming laptops with fewer of those features. If you’re looking for a good option, I recommend the ROG Zephyrus G14 or G15. I’ve been using it for years and it’s been great, except I had to upgrade the RAM.
thanks for the reply. ive narrowed it down to this one although it cant be upgraded i cant see myself using 32gb ram especially with no corp bloatware
Lenovo Yoga Pro 7i Gen 9 (14″ Intel) | Sleek, powerful 14″ creator laptop | 83E200BEUK | Lenovo UK
or the lenovo LOQ range, which are 15" but the ram can be upgraded
