RTX 3090:
Studio Driver - 577.00
I’ve just noticed that when I do a single render and have the viewport in smooth mode, the output is different to when I have the viewport in Precise mode, I hadn’t noticed this before:
Hi @henry1
I tried it on my end using a Demo Scene File and I can’t seem to replicate it.
- Precise Mode in preview Window
- Smooth Mode in preview Window
Does this only occur to this specific file? If so, can you send us this file so we can test it? You can send your logs + scene files to support@d5techs.com and have it titled Clov-Forum If you render whilst viewport is in Smooth
- Log Files
- Scene Files
Hey,
I’ve done a quick test this morning and it’s still happening in that specific project. I’ve tested in another one and it seems to be fine. If you want me to send that specific file over let me know and I will sort out. I will keep an eye out on if this occurs in any other projects.
Hi @henry1
Before sending your files, please try to switch from Game Ready Drivers and update it to the latest version, then see if there are any differences in the output.
If the issue persists, please send your log files and scene files. You may refer to the instructions that I have provided above, and please let me know if you have sent it already. Thank you.
Hi,
I’ve just had it happen on another project. I will switch to game ready driver and test it. I will then send over the files if that doesn’t correc things.
should I always update to game ready instead of Studio?
Hi @henry1
Alright, please let me know if you have sent it.
- Game-ready drivers update more frequently, with new improvements and fixes, but it can also be possible for bugs to appear. Studio drivers are better tested and less frequently released, thus providing better stability, but it takes more time to have new updates of fixes and improvements for known issues.
That’s the only difference between the two, although we’re not 100% sure that switching to a game-ready driver would have a significant impact on this issue, but it’s worth a try since the issue was not replicated on my end.
Hey,
sorry just working on a deadline, once out the door I will jump back onto this and test it with the game ready and then I will check something else and then send the files over.
Have a good day
Hey, I know you mentioned switching from Game ready to studio, but I’ve just realised I’m already on Studio driver, did you notice something I missed?
Will email over the file later today
Hi @henry1
I meant the other way around, from Studio to Game Ready.
Please let me know if you have sent it already.
Ah I see, will test it with the different driver and then I will send the file over anyway. Have the email drafted just need to sort out.
That’s all now sent. It was the same with the Game driver, I also tested some different lighting and still happens.
Let me know what you find!
Hi @henry1
I have pre-tested your file and I was able to replicate the issue. Our team will be further investigating this issue. Thank you.
Hi @Clov
Thanks for the update. Hopefully it helps the dev team. I can’t remember if it also happened when doing the render queue but I think it did. Anyway, let me know if you need anything else.
Hi @Clov any update on this one or is this a known bug? I keep catching myself turning on smooth before rendering and then remembering I can’t do that!
Hi @henry1, Our team is still reviewing this issue and we’ll provide feedback as soon as possible. Apologies for the inconvenience
