How to use Cameras

almost 2 years after my question
Camera object and how to use them - Get Help / How to - D5 RENDER FORUM
i still do not understand and because of this do not use camera objects.

how do i apply a camera to a scene?
where can i see which camera a scene is using?
hot to use (and toggle on/off) the preview window in the bottom right corner? (sometimes it is on sometimes off, no discernible pattern)

why is it not so simple that when clicking on a scene i can see immediately which camera is used? (e.g. Scene 1 → Camera 7, like clicking on an object, i can see on which layer it is)

so, is there a (video) tutorial, which shows the function and usage of cameras in full detail?
thanks in advance!

Personally, I’ve never used D5’s “Add Camera” or “Current Camera” options. My workflow is very straightforward: each scene is a camera.

If I want to adjust a camera, I simply click the camera icon of that scene and make the changes I need. If I want additional cameras from a scene, I duplicate the scene I want to start from, then adjust its camera as needed.

That’s how I’ve worked since day one — simple and intuitive — to the point that I’ve completely ignored the option of adding standalone cameras, haha.

so i’m not the only one

I think that’s the way most users work, camera = scene. Even every tutorial you see out there, they change cameras like that.
