Five Camera issues

  1. Using Camera Inspector ( changing manually any value here )

automatically update Scene. While doing the same by mouse on Viewport doesn’t.

  1. If something else is selected like object Activate/Deactivate Selected Camera shortcut doesn’t work

but doing the same by clicking on Viewport Camera works fine

  1. Using two-point perspective Camera rotation Y in Inspector switch Camera to Perspective mode

  2. Viewport Camera change their position to strange position and FOV value every time project is reloaded

It is not stored in Project file.

  1. Undo

for two-point perspective camera doesn’t work correctly. It change view and FOV.

I can replicate the first two on my end, I may need to confirm with the team if this is under expectation, a known-issue, or a new one.

  • Using Camera Inspector, automatically update Scene. While doing the same by mouse on Viewport doesn’t.
  • If something else is selected like object Activate/Deactivate Selected Camera shortcut doesn’t work

As for the other 3 and 4, no replication on my end.

As for point 3 I mean this :

P3 (2).zip (3.2 MB)

Moving Y cause that we loose perspective correction but I found that moving camera up-down using Fly mode works fine so please ignore this.

I noticed that point 4 is something that doesn’t exist starting new Project but something bad is in my Project because from some time it constantly move Viewport Camera to that strange position. I don’t remember in which process stage it started to works like that. More testing needed.

5 - Undo I must test more because starting new Project it seems to works fine.

Our team just confirmed the following:

  1. The first behaviour is expected; it has been the same since v2.6, when the scene list was integrated with the Advanced Camera.
  2. “Activate/Deactivate Selected Camera” only works when a camera object is selected. When other types of objects are selected, this command will not take effect.

As for point 2 I think that this is bad limitation because D5 interface show that camera is selected and object is selected too. If only camera is selected you can use camera related keyboard shortcuts to switch it to viewport camera but if object is selected too - this key shortcut doesn’t work.

Something like misunderstanding is here. I think that camera selections should be treated different than object selections. Object selection shouldn’t remove camera selection and there still be possibility to use key shortcut to switch from Scene Camera to Viewport Camera - even if object is selected.

Hi @Smolak

Thanks for your insights, that is indeed a fair point. I have forwarded your suggestions to our team
