D5 Render Version: [e.g. 3.1.x]
D5 Lite Version: [see D5 Launcher]
Rhino Version: Rhino 8 [SR number from Help > About]
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Laptop GPU
Driver Version: [NVIDIA Studio driver version]
CPU / RAM: [CPU model] / [RAM]
OS: Windows 11 [build]
Issue Description:
When I run D5Lite in a Rhino file that already contains geometry, the D5 Lite window opens and then closes immediately. Rhino itself does not crash, and no error message appears.
If I open a new empty Rhino file, launch D5Lite first, and then paste the same model, Lite works normally. So the problem seems to happen only during the initial load/sync of the scene.
The model is light and clean. All geometry is valid (checked with What and SelBadObjects), and all objects are close to the origin (within about 40 m). It contains polysurfaces, extrusion objects, plane surfaces, surfaces of revolution, curves and polylines (some with dashed linetypes), points, groups, and nested layers (up to 4 levels).
Steps to Reproduce:
- Open a Rhino 8 file containing geometry (file attached).
- Type D5Lite (or D5LiteStart).
- The Lite window opens and closes after a moment.
Workaround that works:
- New empty Rhino file.
- Launch D5Lite.
- Paste the model into the file. Lite renders correctly.
Also tested: copying the geometry into a new file and then launching Lite gives the same crash.
What I already tried:
Clean uninstall and reinstall of D5 (Launcher and Lite), removing leftover plugin folders.
Windows Graphics settings set to High Performance (RTX 5070 Ti) for D5 and Rhino, with Auto HDR and windowed game optimizations turned off.
Laptop plugged in.
The plugin shown in Rhino PluginManager is “D5 Live Sync for Rhino” v1.2.0.0017, which contains the D5LiteStart commands.
Other plugins installed: EvolveLAB Veras.
