Hello everyone,
i recently started working with D5 Render and I absolutely love it. But in the last couple of days the programm stopped working. After some time in my recent project my whole pc just freezes and I can’t do anything, besides pressing the power button to manually shut it down. I thought my pc just needed some time to unfreeze, but after 1 hour I still couldn’t do anything. Besides that I don’t get an error message. I enabled GPU monitoring to see if I ran out of Ram, but right when my pc froze every value of my gpu was fine. (The pictures are from that exact moment) I dont really know what to do anymore. My gpu drivers are up to date and the whole programm is running fine (with some small lags here and there, but overall fine)
Third picture: Amd driver version is 24.9.1 (the newest)
Is there anything that i can do?
My Pc specs:
-AMD Ryzen 5 3600X 6-Core Processor 4.10 GHz
-RAM 16,0 GB
-AMD Radeon Rx 6650 XT 8GB Ram
D5 Version 2.8.0.0471
Hi there, sorry for that. May I know if you have noticed and tried the “warning” or text colored in red in the screenshot that you provided? Is this file specific or evident in all of your D5 project files? You might want to try that and see if it solves the issue. I also want to reconfirm the following information. Could you please send the following screenshots:
Also, you might want to try a clean reinstallation of the driver. Thank you. I look forward to your reply.
Hello,
thank you for responding. I have included all screenshots you wanted and also reinstalled the latest AMD driver. I have realized, that the same freezing problem happens on other projects as well. I thought it was just the one project with to many assets, but no.
Hi there, sorry for that , Issues that persist even in other project files (despite not being too heavy) might be caused by your PC Environment (hardware and such) You might want to try the following steps and see if it alleviates the issue otherwise, let me know.
-
Start D5 Render with administrator privileges and restart your computer. The program will automatically modify the TDR values, which can improve the stability to a great extent.
-
Turn on DLSS.
-
Try to disable Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling and see if it helps.
Hope this helps, Thank you.
Hello again,
so i ran d5 as an administrator and restarted. The programm still crashed like the other times but this time my pc did not freeze, which is interesting.
Secondly amd does not support dsll, but the equivalent FSR is activated.
Thirdly, the hardware accelerated gpu scheduling is not available on my system.
I took a picture when my pc froze. The VRAM usage was fine I guess, so I tried to find a crash report, but I did not found usefull information. I have added a picture from a folder. Is this the proper folder for D5 crash reports? Or do you know where I can find the right crash report?
Hey,
so I have reinstalled it like you said. I worked with a few elements and did some things like I did in my other projects and it worked. Maybe it is fixed, but I am not really sure. Right now I don’t have a project in university, so I can only try in a few weeks or months. I would really appreciate, if you could answer me back, if the problem is still not solved.
Have a nice day.
