Issue Description:
Scatter is causing D5 to freeze, and nothing gets loaded/generated when I try to create a small fur rug. It only works for very small areas (around 1 m²), but when I increase the size slightly in Sketchup, it stops working.
The only way to recover is by rebooting the computer.
Is there any setting or workaround that could fix this? I believe my computer should have enough processing power to handle it, but I’m not sure how to proceed.
Based on your description, this is most likely caused by very high scatter density (especially for fur-type assets), which can quickly overload the GPU—even on a high-end system like yours. That’s why it works on very small areas (~1 m²) but freezes when slightly increased.
To help us investigate further, could you please confirm:
Is it only Scatter that causes the freeze, or does it happen with other tools as well?
Do you receive any error prompt/message, or does it just freeze?
Does this happen in all scenes or only this specific file?
What scatter preset are you using?
Is the rug surface a clean single face or imported geometry?
Could you send a screenshot of your D5 System Info and Task Manager (Performance tab showing GPU usage) while using Scatter?
