D5 freezes and crashes after trying to save project from Revit 2023

D5 Render Version: 2.10.0.0566
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
RAM: 24GB @ 2133MHz

The title says it all - D5 Render fails to save any project from Revit, regardless of size. Every attempt to save results in an immediate crash, including when trying to save an empty project. The program freezes when the folder selection window appears and crashes without warning.

Troubleshooting steps attempted (unsuccessfully):

  1. Uninstalled and reinstalled the software (including an older and even the latest version, which takes extremely long to launch)
  2. Disabled GPU acceleration
  3. Tried various other suggested solutions

Note: While my system isn’t cutting-edge (Ryzen 7 2700X, GTX 1080 Ti, 24GB RAM), it handles all other software without issues.

I hope theres a solution because I’m really loving the experience with D5, but if I can’t save projects then there is no real reason to have it installed on my PC

Hi @joseluissuarez2811

I apologize for the inconvenience. Just to clarify:

  • This issue persists only when Revit Files are involved?
  • Regarding on the empty file that you have mentioned, was it linked to an empty Revit file, or perhaps you have independently opened a new file in D5 and tried to save it?

Suggestions:

Thanks for the feedback Clov.

Somehow the problem got fixed, after an update from Windows I tried to save a file from D5 and it worked, the program runs smoothly. So if anyone has the same problem I recommend to try what I did and look out for updates, it’s totally worth it.

Hi @joseluissuarez2811

Thanks for the update, we appreciate it.
