**Issue Description: D5 constantly shutting down without warning, even in new/very light scenes. Often happens in Precise preview mode, but has also happened in Smooth preview mode. I’ve worked on very complex scenes in the past with all settings on high - I have now set the preview settings lower but it’s making no difference. GPU suddenly spikes without warning and D5 closes immediately. PC doesn’t crash though- only D5. I have tried rolling back the GPU driver to an older version (32.0.15.7283) but still had the same issues. I thought it could be a PSU issue (I’m using 750w), but I would expect the whole PC to freeze/shut down if that was the case? I’ve noticed the crashes happening since updating D5 to the latest version but can’t be sure if it is 100% related to that. It’s crashing so frequently that it’s becoming unusable and I have urgent projects piling up… please help!
Try to rename your Workspace folder to something else, then after renaming, try to open an empty file or a d5 file.
According to your log files, it has detected 3 GPUs. Please ensure that D5 is using the RTX GPU. You can either change the NVIDIA Control Panel or disable the other 2, then try running D5 again.
I suggest trying the proposed solutions individually instead of doing it all at the same time and please let me know if there are any improvements.
Hi @Clov
Thank you for the suggestions- I’ll test these now and will let you know how I go. May take some time to experiment because the crashes are inconsistent (about 15 crashes in one day, then the next day no crashes, today 1 crash so far).
Appreciate you getting back to me so quickly.
Cheers
