D5 collapsed when i create or open a project

D5 Render Version: 2.11.0.0603
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU
Driver Version: 32.0.15.7700

Hi! I have installed the latest version of D5, but when i open it, it shows Low on TDR error message so i click on fix suggested by d5 and then it restarts my laptop. then when i open d5 again and create a new project it automatically crashes without any error message.

i tried manually setting TDRdelay in Register Editor to 120 but d5 still crashes when i create a new project or open any project

Hi @lk9.tranhoanghai

After doing the steps that were mentioned in our blog post or in the user manual and restarting your device, were you able to run D5 as administrator? Please try to do so.

I have followed the solution in this post: https://docs.d5render.com/user-guide/common-pop-up-windows/how-to-do-when-a-low-tdr-is-detected#header-0
but the problem have not fixed, it always runs to 99% and then automatically disappears

Hi @lk9.tranhoanghai

So the TDR Value has disappeared, but it only gets to 99% and crashes? How about other files? Are you able to open them normally? Perhaps an empty D5 File or a Demo Scene File?

Based on the image you have sent regarding your system information, you’re running i9 13900H, which is known to have issues and updating your BIOS might be beneficial. Please try to do it also and let me know of the results so we can proceed with the troubleshooting process.

Note: Although i9-13900K and i9-14900K is for a PC, we generally recommend users with the same CPU with laptop devices to do the same.

My problem have been fixed, but my friend has the same problem too, he cant create or open any file, even empty one, here is his logs

Is the update bios work?

Hi @lk9.tranhoanghai

How were you able to solve it? Has updating your BIOS solved this issue on your end?

Just some important information that I want to know regarding the issue that your colleague is experiencing:

  • Is it specific to this file only? Or to all of the other files?
  • Try opening an empty file or a D5 Demo Scene File and see if it opens normally.
  • The image you have sent is not the logs, you need to click “Collect Logs” to generate a zipped log file.

What is his System Info, VRAM, and Memory Speed? Please send these images.

About my problem: I didn’t do anything, I just randomly opened d5 and it worked.

About my friend’s problem: he tried installing an older version: 2.10 and it worked at first. However, when he restarted his laptop and opened it again, it only ran to 99% and then disappeared:

  • The problem occurs with all files
  • Tried opening a blank file or Demo Scene but it didn’t work.

Hi @lk9.tranhoanghai

Can you check if the device is utilizing its dedicated GPU instead of its iGPU? You may either:

You may also try running D5 Render as administrator

Hi.
I have exactly the same problem, but the solution didn’t work.

Hi @daniel.saballos

Is the TDR Error prompt still evident? After the above steps are finished, have you rebooted your device? Remember to reboot your computer; otherwise, the change will not take effect.

Hi. Thanks for the answer.
Still doesn’t work. I rebooted my pc and still crashes when it gets 99%. The file has vegetation with scatter tool

Hi @daniel.saballos

I may need to check these files on your end. Please check your inbox.

[Update] User was unable to open the specific file because of the size and number of Scatter and Vegetation Assets used, also considering 6GB VRAM may not be able to handle such large assets.

Solution: Delete f2 folder (pak files) then optimize the file before updating.
