Hi! I have installed the latest version of D5, but when i open it, it shows Low on TDR error message so i click on fix suggested by d5 and then it restarts my laptop. then when i open d5 again and create a new project it automatically crashes without any error message.
i tried manually setting TDRdelay in Register Editor to 120 but d5 still crashes when i create a new project or open any project
After doing the steps that were mentioned in our blog post or in the user manual and restarting your device, were you able to run D5 as administrator? Please try to do so.
So the TDR Value has disappeared, but it only gets to 99% and crashes? How about other files? Are you able to open them normally? Perhaps an empty D5 File or a Demo Scene File?
Based on the image you have sent regarding your system information, you’re running i9 13900H, which is known to have issues and updating your BIOS might be beneficial. Please try to do it also and let me know of the results so we can proceed with the troubleshooting process. Note: Although i9-13900K and i9-14900K is for a PC, we generally recommend users with the same CPU with laptop devices to do the same.
About my problem: I didn’t do anything, I just randomly opened d5 and it worked.
About my friend’s problem: he tried installing an older version: 2.10 and it worked at first. However, when he restarted his laptop and opened it again, it only ran to 99% and then disappeared:
The problem occurs with all files
Tried opening a blank file or Demo Scene but it didn’t work.
Is the TDR Error prompt still evident? After the above steps are finished, have you rebooted your device? Remember to reboot your computer; otherwise, the change will not take effect.
[Update] User was unable to open the specific file because of the size and number of Scatter and Vegetation Assets used, also considering 6GB VRAM may not be able to handle such large assets.
Solution: Delete f2 folder (pak files) then optimize the file before updating.
