D5 3.00 - Animation Shot Transitions Issue

Hi D5 Team, I installed 3.0 today and have encountered an issue in animation shot transitions, where there’s a graphical glitch between scene transitions. Please follow the link to a sample. I’m currently working on a larger set of sequences and it’s happening between each transition. This wasn’t an issue in the previous 2.11 version.

A fix would be most welcome!

Animation Shot Transitions Issue

I have been experiencing this issue since version 2.10.

The problem is that D5 keeps using the original first frame of a sequence as the starting frame for the next sequence. Even when the sequence start point, camera angle, or scene setup has been changed afterwards, D5 still briefly shows the very first frame that was originally created for that sequence.

As a result, there is a one-frame glitch during the transition where the old starting frame appears before the new shot begins.

It seems that the sequence cache or internal reference is not being updated correctly when modifying the sequence or camera after initial creation.

This causes visible flickering between shots and makes clean animation transitions impossible.

lucky you have to edit all video iles for audio etc. there you can reove that one frame

Thanks for your note.

You’ve described the exact issue - ‘As a result, there is a one-frame glitch during the transition where the old starting frame appears before the new shot begins’

I discovered this was the case when having to edit and trim the clips.
I’ve never had this issue before and I’m hoping the D5 team can address this asap, as I don’t want to make edits in the animation length to then compensate when moving the finished clips over to post production.

Hi @iain.tregoning

Thanks for the report. We’re investigating a similar issue. Could you please share the D5 scene file for our test? Please also confirm whether it occurs only in the 3.0 version.

Thanks @ela and D5 Team; the latest update has resolved the transition problem and I can report there is no more glitching between shots.

Appreciate the very swift fix!

Thank you for the update @iain.tregoning
