Conflict between D5 LiveSync and LordOfTheToolbars (LOTT) in SketchUp

Hello,

I have identified a compatibility issue between the D5 LiveSync plugin and Fredo6’s “LordOfTheToolbars” (LOTT) in SketchUp.

The Problem:
When both plugins are enabled, the LordOfTheToolbars toolbars do not appear at all. The LOTT interface is completely missing.

How I confirmed it:

  1. I disabled all other plugins, leaving only LibFredo6, LOTT, and D5 LiveSync active.
  2. I restarted SketchUp.
  3. The LOTT toolbars were missing.
  4. I then disabled D5 LiveSync (keeping LOTT enabled) and restarted SketchUp again.
  5. The LOTT toolbars appeared and worked perfectly.

This confirms that D5 LiveSync is causing a conflict, preventing LOTT from loading its toolbars.

System Info:

  • SketchUp Version: Sketchup Pro 2023 & 2026
  • D5 LiveSync Version: latest
  • LOTT Version: latest

Could you please look into this issue? Other users have reported similar problems online. A fix would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

I confirm this blocking conflict on SketchUp 2026.1.2 (Windows). Activating D5 LiveSync v1.7.0.0001 prevents Lord of the Toolbars (v2.9c) from loading.

Two blocking technical issues during initialization:

  1. Is a directory error: LOTT fails when scanning the d5_converter folder.
  2. Access conflict: D5 synchronously locks the PrivatePreferences.json file at startup, blocking LOTT’s write permissions to memorize and position the toolbars.

Staying on D5 v1.6.1 remains the only functional option. A revision of the LiveSync initialization sequence by your teams or a directory exclusion patch by Fredo6 is required.

Thank you !
