I’m trying to render some variations of the same scene through batch rendering.
The way I try to work is by
sending scene to the queue
making some adaptations to the model in rhino, D5 syncs live (very useful!)
sending adapted version to the queue
batch render 2 queued variations in one go
TOO BAD : D5 RENDERS 2 TIMES EXACTLY THE SAME OUTPUT (as the model looks at the moment of rendering)
Shouldn’t sending a scene to the queue mean that whenever it is rendered later, it should output the shot with the model exactly as it was when sent to the queue? Or is that too much to ask?
Thank you for getting in touch. Did you review the final output of the two rendered images through download or did you only check based on the thumbnail in the history? I conducted some tests regarding the issue, and it appears that the thumbnail does not reflect changes similar to the attached reference image. However, the final rendered output does show the changes.
There are alternative methods to achieve this without modifying the model. You can simply import/sync two models into D5 and toggle them on or off using layers, depending on your preference.
Hi thank you for checking up. The thumbnails don’t update often, but that doesn’t matter to me. It is the final output that renders only the model as it is at the moment of rendering. I tried again and it still the same.
sending the model multiple times to D5? that’s an option but it would undermine the livesync feature alltogether
What version of Rhino are you currently using? Also, which version of the LiveSync plugin do you have? Please send your file to support@d5techs.com for testing and a thorough investigation. You can also include the complete issue (forum link) and tag me @maslu for easy tracking.
Thank you for your understanding and supporting D5!
