Assistance Required: TDR Issue and Crashes with Heavy Projects

Dear D5 Render Support Team,

I am a long-time user of D5 Render, and I have been working with the software for over a year. Recently, I encountered an issue that has significantly impacted my workflow, and I hope you can assist me.

Issue Description:

  1. Problem:
  • When trying to open older (larger) projects, the software loads to 100% and then crashes immediately.
  • A notification previously appeared stating “TDR is low” and requested a system reboot.
  1. Working Scenarios:
  • Smaller or new projects still open without any issues.

System Specifications:

  • CPU: Intel i7
  • GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3060 (with the latest drivers installed)
  • RAM: 24GB
  • Virtual Memory: Increased and optimized
  • Storage: 200GB of free space available

Troubleshooting Steps Already Taken:

  • Updated GPU drivers (clean installation).
  • Increased virtual memory to 36GB (initial) and 48GB (maximum).
  • Freed up disk space (200GB available).
  • Attempted to optimize the system for heavy rendering, but the issue persists.

Request:

Could you please provide guidance on resolving this issue? If logs or further details are required, let me know, and I will share them promptly.

Thank you for your support, and I look forward to your response.

Best regards,
AYEB Mohamed Yessine

Hi @ayebmyassine,

I apologize for the inconvenience. To resolve the TDR issue, please close D5 Render and locate its shortcut either on your desktop or in the Windows Start menu. Right-click on the shortcut and select Run as administrator.

After the welcome page of D5 Render appears, please wait about 5 seconds, then close D5 Render and reboot your computer. Once your computer restarts, you shouldn’t have to worry about the TDR crash issue anymore.

Note: This action will not take effect until your computer is rebooted.

For more information regarding TDR and how to manually change settings, please refer to this link: How to solve Timeout Detection Recovery problem when rendering.

If you’re experiencing lack of access to heavy projects, it may be due to insufficient memory, which can be resolved by deleting the f2 folder. For a detailed guide on how to address this issue, please refer to the link below. Thank you!
