Hi. in the Update 2.8 Trailer, we saw that AI enhancer has great effect on characters, making them real. but in my experience, it completely ignores them. take a look:
Original:
you can see even though everything is enhanced, it completely ignored the characters. except for the dog, for some reason it’s now flower. the funny thing is, it literally masks out characters. if you look, the grass around the character is not enhanced as well, as if it intentionally ignores them.
ironically this even happens when you don’t check “AI Enhancer” channel. it still masks characters (At least when they’re close to camera)
Pretty much the only reason I was interested in AI enhancement was the characters as they always look bad and plasticky. It’s a bit disappointing. At least it not too difficult to do so in Photoshop to use AI to change faces of the characters. I wish D5 implement an option to create automatic motion blur to characters like architectural photos.
I admit, installing Stable Diffusion alone was very hard for me, but it truly worth it. before update 2.8, my characters looked nice, but my scene were not as good as my characters, now, it’s very different.
the funny thing with stable diffusion is, you can use fixed seed and fixed description to make your characters look exactly same in all your views.
also, you can give nationality and race. like you can say Caucasian, Persian, Mexican, it’s so accurate it’s funny. my employer is very happy all characters I have in my renders are accurate, unlike other d5 artists which usually have Asian character in Bohemian area.
I also suggest use stuff like “pretty, handsome, beautiful, smiling, good lighting” sort of stuff in prompts, they usually create better outputs.
Sorry for the unsatisfying effect and thanks for pointing it out. We will try our best to optimize the AI tool.
Please send your Log files and the exact time point of starting the enhancement task, so we can check the generation record on the cloud. (support@d5techs.com, please attach a link to this post in the email, so I can quickly find you. Thanks in advance!

Hi! sorry for taking two days to answer this log file you always ask is such a pain for my lazy kind and I was swamped with work. so, I wanted to get the log file after my work is done. but I think I have come to a conclusion. for the past couple of hours, I’ve been using AI enhancer and I noticed two things:
At close Distance: it enhances the character
At Medium Distance: it masks out characters, so they won’t deform.
At Far distance: if there are AI enhancement channel, it tries to mask them out, otherwise, they will deform.
the lady here is around 7.5-8 Meters far from Camera and the AI enhancement worked on her but not for the girl on the bike. and in the sample provided in first post, the characters were around 9-10 Meters from camera, and it didn’t work on them.
so, I guess there is a rule for that. in my opinion it should be more. at least 20-30m if there is no obstacle, or when we select them individually. I guess it will improve over time.
It will be great if there’s an option to automatically AI change only characters to a more realistic face/hair/clothing. I suppose it can generate automatic mask for AI since all added objects have separate masks already?
My question was if this can be automated. Once you hit batch render, D5 renders and updates the characters automatically, then two files are saved. The original / automatic AI update on characters.
