2.11 + Rhino: losing all materials or entire model

Hi,

I updated today to D5 2.11. I work with Rhino 8 SR16 with a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060, NVIDIA Studio driver, version 580.97. I use livesync, which I redownload and installed today since encountering this issue.

When I open up a old D5 project from the D5 launcher (not from the syncing button in Rhino) the D5 file opens up and all my work from D5 are still there (lights, models) but the Rhino model is gone. Even if the miniature thumbnail shows the latest saved version, the model is empty.

When I open up a D5 project from the livesync button from Rhino, firstly it opens a new project, not the synced one as it used to. But if I open the project from the launcher and then I try to livesync from Rhino the model syncs but all materials are lost.

Any way to recover my work?

Currently uninstalling everything and reinstalling version 2.10 and both livesync and “normal” sync to see if anything works.

Will update soon.

Thanks.

Hi @franciscobassi

Where are these files located? Specifically, the 3d Model?

  • Have you tried placing them in the same folder as your D5 File Folder?
  • Was the 3d Model Renamed or Transferred from its original location?
  • Also, ensure that they are stored in a local file path and not in a Cloud Storage or Network path.
