Why there is no Option to Save Default Image Settings (Format & Resolution)?

Whenever I create a new scene in D5 Render, all the image settings automatically reset to default — for example, the format goes back to PNG. I usually prefer JPG format and 4K resolution, but currently, I have to manually change these settings for every single scene.

If I’m creating multiple scenes (say 20 or more), it becomes quite time-consuming to adjust each one individually.

It would be really helpful if D5 had an option to set and save default render settings — especially for image format and resolution. This way, users could customize their preferred defaults once, and all new scenes would automatically follow those settings.

Hi @krashnajadeja0000

Currently, D5 Render doesn’t have a global “save default image settings” option that automatically applies to all new scenes.

However, there are a couple of workarounds you can try:

  • In Render mode, add your first scene and set the preferred format and resolution. Then click “Apply to All” before adding more scenes — the settings should carry over from the first scene.

  • You can also select multiple scenes at once by Shift + right-clicking the scenes, then set the format and resolution for all of them simultaneously.

Wow, I didn’t know we could do this. Just one question about the first method you showed, if I click ‘Apply to All’, will it apply all the settings to every scene? Usually, I have different sunlight directions in each scene. But the second method works great!!

Thank you so much!!

Hi @krashnajadeja0000

Glad to hear the second method works great for you. As far as I know, clicking “Apply to All” should only apply the render settings across all scenes, so your individual sunlight directions should remain unchanged.

You can also try the first method on your end just to confirm. That quick test will help verify how it behaves in your specific project, and sharing the result could help other users who might run into the same situation.
