Why do my textures resize when refreshing?

When I refresh the sync to D5 tool from Sketchup, sometimes it will make my previously applied textures super small or super big in D5.

Has anyone else had this problem? is there a workaround or is a setting off?

Hi @ethan.satsky

Does this occur to all files? Can you send us a video recording? And perhaps this specific SKP file so we can also test it on our end?

Hello!

Sorry for the late reply. It was happening quite a bit in my previous project, but I couldn’t get it to do it again until today.

I recorded a video of me refreshing the Sketchup to D5 plugin, and how it makes the dirt and concrete texture massive afterwards. (It takes a second to load).

as far as I know, the stretch remains the same before and after refresh.

Have y’all seen anything like this?

Hi @ethan.satsky

When you refresh the SketchUp sync, D5 imports UV data (including texture scale) from SketchUp, which can overwrite your customized texture settings.

Please try the ff:

  1. In D5, select the affected material

  2. Adjust the UV Scale / UV Size to your desired value

  3. Once you change any parameter in D5, that material becomes protected; SketchUp sync will no longer override it

After customizing texture scale in D5, subsequent syncs from SketchUp will preserve your settings.

Please try this and let me know if the issue persists.
