When exporting a video of a character moving along a gentle slope, the path doesn’t function correctly—the character ends up floating.
Although it works properly in the viewport preview, for some reason the character floats in the rendered video.
The same issue existed in version 2.8 and still hasn’t been resolved.
Is there any workaround for this?
Hi @d5-pl-01
I apologize for the inconvenience. Can you send us the video render, you may generate a wetransfer file.
Some additional questions and suggestions:
- Is this character inserted using the Path Tool? Or was just individually placed?
- Have you tried activating the Drop along the Terrain feature or Drop Vertically?
Drop Vertically : The material will land vertically on the surface of the nearest object.
Drop along the terrain : The clip will be rotated according to the direction perpendicular to the model surface at the same time when it lands on the nearest model surface.
I am using a character with the path tool.
When I turn “Fall ON,” the character floats.
When I turn “Fall OFF,” it still floats slightly, but it’s within an acceptable range.
I handled it this way.
In the preview, there’s no issue even with “Fall ON” — why is that?
This is critical.
Hi @d5-pl-01
I can’t seem to replicate it on my end; enabling the “Drop” feature does not make the characters float on my end. Perhaps you can tell me which character asset was used? Or you can send us your file so we can test it.
