Weird shine and shadow on fluted surfaces

Hi, I have a fluted surface modeled in sketchup and then imported in D5. It comes out like this when I render it even if reflective properties are set to 0. These areas being cast with shadows look realistic(1) but I don’t know how to fix the shiny looking areas(2) and weird shadows(3). Does anyone know what causes/how to fix this?

Here’s how it looks like when rendered close up:

I think it is the shadow of the window ie the frame and the curtain :slightly_smiling_face: :slightly_smiling_face: :slightly_smiling_face:

It is actually the shadow of the rail outside. It’s just that the shadow looks weird don’t you think?

it cast shadows on the deep part of the flute(1) and no shadows on the curve part(2) and some part looks glowing(3)

Hello
Yes, it is strange, perhaps the transparency of the material is activated or not, or put an illuminating LED on it and see what happens.
Let me know if you have solved it :slightly_smiling_face: :slightly_smiling_face: :slightly_smiling_face:
