VR headset issue

Hello,

I have a Meta Quest 2. I’ve tried for hours to get D5 to see the headset to no avail.
The VR button says “Virtual Reality (Take effect after restart)” when I hover over.
Not sure what that means…

I’ve tried everything I can find, but D5 cannot find my headset. Any help out there?

Steve

Hi @steve3

Thanks for reaching out. To clarify, D5’s VR feature is still in beta and must be enabled first, then restarted—that could be why you see “Virtual Reality (Take effect after restart)” when hovering over the button.

To help us check why your Meta Quest 2 isn’t being detected, could you please confirm the following:

  • Have you enabled the VR (beta) widget in Preferences → Widget and then restarted D5?
  • How is your Quest 2 connected to the PC (Oculus Link cable, Air Link, or via SteamVR)?
  • What happens when you click the VR button in D5—does it show any error or open SteamVR?

You may check our official guide here: How to use VR (beta) Widget? | User Manual

I enabled the VR widget and restarted D5. Not sure why I’m still getting that message.
I’m connected with a USB 3 cable to the computer. The Meta Link app sees my headset.
The error I see is “no headset detected.” That’s it. Should I try SteamVR?

Hi @steve3

Have you tried connecting to the Oculus Program for PC? You can find the link in the guide I provided above.
