UCS ALignement ? fix?

hi guys/moderator/experts

any idea /tricks/or walk around on this? moving things items most of the time UCS is not aligned with the objects/items while if we do SCALE its always on correct format and axis alignment.

Hi there sorry for the inconvenience, you can try to put your model into the origin of your modelling software and then use the Sync Pivot feature. Hope this helps.
What is “Sync Pivot” and how to use it for rotating/opening and closing doors animation in D5? | User Manual (d5render.com)

hi clov, it does not help at all… its a diff function… no effect.

Hi, I might need to recreate and test your issue on my mind. Would it be possible to send your files? You can send it to support@d5techs.com and have it titled ‘Clov-Forum’ and briefly describe the case. Thank you

Additionally, I would like to confirm which 3D modeling software you are using.

what happens if you switch between World and Local coordinate system
cs

You might want to try @pxlntwrk suggestion

  • World Coordinates: Refers to the absolute coordinate of space. The world space is the outermost space, and the concept of absolute position is similar to the latitude, longitude, and altitude in the real world.

  • Object Coordinates: It is the model’s independent coordinate space. Each model or object has its own front, back, left, and right directions, and rotating or moving and scaling the model cannot change its own directions.

Hope this helps!

thanks guys…will try all ur suggestions. :innocent:

for individual item it works (object Coordinate) for grouped items it does not work… as shown in the image.

still thank u :innocent:…appreciate it.

ohh if u know how to set the grouped items coordinate pls. share it.

Hi there, these assets are from D5 Render, right? I tried it on my end, and it seems that these individual boxes have a different coordinates but when I group they will adapt to the World Coordinate of the model~

You might want to select all the models you wish to change in this section or even modify the filter of the objects so you can easily navigate to the specific models, then click on the coordinate system icon. I hope this helps. Thank you.

hmm strange… i was using LIGHT BOX entity… when i move them individually ur idea works… but after grouping all my lights the UCS is not following …neither of the 2 options…global/individual. can u try the light box items?

individual seems perfect…XYZ can move accordingly.

I can’t seem to recreate a similar environment in which this problem occurred. Would you mind sending me this portion of the file? So we can further investigate this issue, this could be an unreported bug and such. Are you using SketchUp or any other software? Thank you~

ohh i cant send the file… :face_exhaling: yeah sketchup+d5

I understand  : this is what I tried on my end: the model (light fixture) from SketchUp, which deviates from SketchUp’s original coordinates. Then, when I synced it to D5 and inserted the rectangular lights. The rectangular light follows the world coordinate system, which is different from your case since the coordinate button won’t work if it is grouped as on my end grouped or not, the coordinates change~

Perhaps, have you tried inserting light assets in Sketch Up using the D5 Livesync plug-in?

make sense …ok will do this trick…i will try it… :innocent: really appreciate it…
