I previously opened a topic about this issue on the D5 Forum a few months ago and you told me that this would be fixed in the new Sketchup D5 Sync updates. But I still keep getting the same problem. I did not have this problem in previous Sketchup D5 Syncs. In modelling, models such as walls and roofs are grouped as layers. As you can see, group elements in the form of lines appear in the modeling. The Material Triplanar feature in D5 does not work correctly in the sections at the intersections of group locations. Also, if you look at the corner turns on the top roof, the ceramic lines are not aligned at the corner turns. That’s why I still can’t use your updates. When will you fix this problem? This is very important for me…
I showed it in detail in the video, be sure to watch it and you will understand better what I mean. When I explode model groups, the entire surface becomes a single group and the Triplanar feature works correctly. But it is not possible to work this way as a modeling technique. That’s why it is necessary to work on each floor as a separate group. Additionally, in 90 degree corner turns, the ceramic lines do not match flush when the Triplanar feature is on. That’s why I still continue to use D5 2.3.4. Currently, only an old D5 Sync file (D5_Converter_SketchUp_test_0.6.7) and a D5 2.3.4 can solve my problem. But these versions are very old…
Hi Furkan, I remember your problem, you explained it perfectly with the video. I as a colleague suggest you try two ways.
Put the Sketchup texture, giving it a name, where I saw that there are different elements that make up the facade, when you have inserted the mapping, you align it perfectly with the wall then synchronize with D5, see if it resolves.
Since the facade has different components, vertical walls, curves and a floor that divides the facade, I would combine these elements into a single body, then I would see if they give me the same problem you mentioned.
This is one way to overcome the obstacle.
Questo è un modo per superare l’ostacolo.
Hello, we have just checked your question again. We’re sorry this is causing you trouble. We will improve this issue in future releases. For now it is still recommended that if you wish to avoid the problem of misaligned seams, you can make adjacent sections of the same material into a single face.
This solution will not be reversible because when I want to hide the models I have grouped, I will no longer be able to hide them model by model. As a working technique, the floors should remain grouped because it should be practical to do this when the customer requests any revision. Additionally, between seconds 0:50 and 1:03 of the video, the surfaces are in one piece, but the ceramic lines are not aligned at 90 degree corner turns.
I’ve been using this version of Sketchup D5 Converter for two years, but I’m using it on version 2.3.4 of D5.
When I synchronize this converter version to D5 2.7, D5 freezes and I cannot perform any operations. I think the old Converter version has become dysfunctional with the new D5 update.
Try this old Sketchup D5 Converter version on D5 2.3.4 and see how accurately it works.
Combining different components of the facade (Roof, Wall, etc.) in one piece will be negative for the model technique. This makes my job difficult and complicated. Even if they merge into a single body, the lines do not follow each other at 90 degree corner turns. (0:50-1:03 on Video)
I can only advise you that you have to do the work on Sketchup, this is because only in this way can you solve it, I can put you a video tutorial that explains with the app how to solve the problem.
Thank you for your efforts to help, but these are long solutions for me. D5 Sketchup Converter already solved this without any need for these. The only thing that needs to be done is that the D5 team needs to fix the problem in the Converter plugin.
