The shadow has become darker

Hello
The shadows are darker than before, so I need help.

The settings for Environment, Effect, and lnspector remain the same.

Even if you replicate the scene list, the shadow in the thumbnail is different.

I don’t know why. Please help me

Hi, you have to adjust the shadows in the sun setting

Then look in Effects in the Shadow item which at the beginning and 0.5 you must reduce it to either 0.3 or 0.2

this is 0.5

this is 0.2

this is the sun setting, if you see at the top of the curtain it is initially 1, if you bring it to a lower value the shadow becomes lighter but the light is dimmer, so you have to play on the contrast.

To speed up all this I take from the AI which is on your right the references of the D5 works and I take the settings from there, the one that suits me best for the project

First of all, thank you for your kind reply.
I don’t know if it was conveyed properly because I used a translator, but at some point, the shadows became dark, even though I didn’t change the settings of Environment, Effect, and Inspector. Even when I select a scene from the Scene List and do Add Scene, even the added thumbnail screen is dark.

Good evening, have you updated your graphics card?
If you did it then remove Super Resolution and check only FPS

Hi there,

I apologize for the inconvenience this issue has caused. Could you please provide us with before-and-after photos of the shadow output? If you are unable to do so, you can send us your file so we can assess it on our end. If it is evident and observed on our side, it may be a bug. Otherwise, it could be related to your PC environment. Regardless, we will assist you either way. Thank you.

Hi there,

I just tested a Demo file in the 2.8 and 2.9.1 versions. I notice the shadows are lighter in 2.9.1 compared to 2.8, quite the opposite of your claim:smiling_face_with_tear. I rendered this image in 2k and enabled SuperResolution.

Continuing the discussion from The shadow has become darker:

Hello, thank you for your answer
I’m version 2.9.1 and I’ve rendered Demo (Realistic Lnterior Lighting) in 2k. Is it possible to compare it to mine? I want to know how dark it is

And as you two said, there was a difference between turning on and off “Super Resolution.”

Hi, I don’t see any differences, the environment you posted is poorly lit and has a good soft light and shadows which for my part, this is a matter of taste, are fine, especially the one in the living room, however the kitchen is poorly lit. I don’t understand in the second image of the kitchen without lights you did it on purpose.
But the living room is fine all things considered, if you want more light just regulate not the lights but on the effect remove the automatic and give it more power to the light diffusion, you can regulate them, it’s the first item where the automatic gives you the remove and adjust them, if you want the diffusion less strong or stronger. :slightly_smiling_face:
For the rest it’s a nice job.

Thank you always for your kind reply.
The images above are rendered without editing Scene (night1, night4) in the Scene List of Demo File ‘Realistic Linterior Lighting’. I want to check if my D5 program is okay, can I compare it with your rendering image?

Ok I’ll make two images with Super resolution and without, but I’ll tell you that now in my country Italy it’s 9.30pm in the evening, I’m on the armchair watching a TV show Dune, I turn on the laptop for a moment which is a 16G GTX 1070 and I do a render

Thank you very much. Have a nice evening

It’s okay, thank you for your kindness, I’m a very active person now, if I don’t answer I won’t sleep. :grinning: :grinning: :grinning:

So, I’ll give you a small bedroom, with a walk-in closet.
PS: These images have quite powerful light coming from outside

Instead these I have diversified the power of the light and the sun HDRI, with and without Super resolution

With super resolution

Without super resolution

With super resolution

Without super resolution

If you notice there is a slight difference in shadows on the vase and the feathers and at the bottom the window of the first two images
Instead on the second you see it on the floor on the legs of the bedside table.
The difference is small.

Oh no I think I kept you awake I’m sorry :disappointed_relieved:
What I wanted was a rendering of the d5 demo, “Realistic Indoor Lighting.”
Still, it was a great help thanks to you. Thank you so much for your kindness. I hope you have a good night.

Thanks to you, I was able to study well.
By the way, your rendering is the best
I don’t want to take away your precious night anymore, thank you.
And thanks to the difference in “super resolution”, I got to know it. Thank you.

Hi @koh980628 @riccardofortelli

Thank you both for your input on this matter. While testing this issue with one of the Demo Scenes (Residence Lawn), I noticed a slight difference in the shadows between the two versions I was using. I will report this issue to my team to determine whether this is normal or a bug in our software. Thank you for your understanding.
