Good afternoon. The 5090 video card is not used more than 20 percent when rendering. The drivers are the latest. D5 is also freshly installed. What could be the problem?
You dont need the latsest driver with 5090. Search it online on the forum you need an older driver for now
I installed 2 positions older drivers (576.02) - the situation has not changed. What is characteristic, in the viewport 60-65 percent load, and render - 10-20…
I downloaded a standard scene for the test - and there the rendering goes with normal video card load. Then the question - what in the scene can affect the rendering speed so much that the video card load drops 5 times? The scene is not very loaded yet. I just started working on it.
By deleting successively different objects I found the cause. It is a scatter with simple grass on the roof of a building (total area of about 2000 m2). Strangely enough, there were no problems in similar scenes before. I will try to split this scatter into three separate parts tomorrow.
Hi @blc.comp
Can you share with me the following images/information?
- System Info
- VRAM - Please open the D5 File that you are working on right now together with this window.
- Memory Speed
May I know how heavy these files are that you’re trying to render? If it’s really a heavy file amounting to 5 GB to 20 GB, then RTX 5090 will surely help, but will be reliant on its VRAM.
The file is not heavy. It’s all about the grass. As soon as you add a scatter with grass on this roof - immediately the load on the map during rendering drops 5 times. I think there is some bug here.
Hi @blc.comp
Alright, can you send us this particular D5 Render File so we can test it?

You may send it to support@d5techs and have it titled ‘Clov-Forum The 5090 uses 15-20 percent of power when rendering’

Additionally, based on the image that you have provided, it seems that you are trying to add Grass only. I suggest using the material Template “Grass” instead of using the scatter tool for this specific situation.
