When synchronizing a scene from 3D Max, objects from hidden layers are also imported. Is it possible to synchronize only visible layers in 3D Max? I haven’t found such a function. It would be very nice to have this function. Otherwise you have to delete all the auxiliary objects in 3D Max on hidden layers. Or import the scene in parts, eliminating direct synchronization with 3D Max, which is not convenient in all cases. I would be very grateful if such a function appears, thank you!
Hi,andree11gor.
We have realised that the converter is still not perfect in use,We will try to improve on this.
If you have any further questions about using it you can reply to this topic.
Hi mate, the d5 converter cannot recognize whether a layer is hidden or not… You can hide the individual object, and that kind of hidden models will not be imported into D5 when syncing.
Hi
When will there be an update to fix this issue?
Thanks
Hello. Currently the latest version of the Real Time Live Sync plugin for 3ds max is able to sync the display and hiding of layers.
Thanks for this.
But for large projects we are finding Livesync unstable.
Would it be possible to apply the same layer visibility fix to ‘D5 Sync for 3ds Max’?
Hello. When you use D5 Sync for 3ds Max, if you need to sync the showing or hiding of layers, you can click Update.
Hi, do you mean the ‘sync’ button in 3dsmax?
This does not work. The objects in the hidden layer appear in D5.
Hello! I mean this button, the “update” one.
Yes, tried that, it ignores layer visibility and shows all objects, just like Livesync did before you fixed it.
Could you please fix D5 Sync too. This would be extremely useful for us.
This one:
Hello! We will check this issue and I think this video may help you. Unique Download Link | WeTransfer
Yes, turning off objects does work. But this is not a common workflow. Most users use layers.
You fixed this exact issue with livesync, so hopefully it is an easy fix with sync too.
Thanks for your advice. I understand your request now.
I think we may improve it in the future.
