Sync coordinates not available for some Revit exports

I am exporting different elements of a building to do 4d animation. Slabs and ceilings export separately and I am able to sync coordinates of those elements. When I export walls, the option to sync the coordinates in D5 is greyed out and I cannot get the walls to align. Is there something in the Revit export (Separated) that I need to have on/off to get all exports able to sync? I have tried separated and just the plain Export , with/without survey point checked and none of the wall exports can be synced. The elements that can sync alignment were exported yesterday, while the non syncing elements (walls) we exported from the same Revit model, today. Do all the elements need to be exported on the same day/Revit session?

One more variable…I was forced to upgrade to 2.11.1 this morning. The syncing elements were initially placed in D5 prior to that. I did have revised elements and reload those models after upgrading from local…but maybe the different versions affect the coordinates???

Update…closed d5 and opened it again (BTW it took 15 minutes to open a fairly simple model). I can now sync coordinates of the two model elements that werent before.

Hi @scott.kluegel

Alright, thanks for updating us.

Regarding the longer loading time after the update, it is usually normal, but it should not occur every time you open a file. If you close it again and reopen, does it still take 15 minutes to open?

yes…at least 15 minutes. I may have been a bit vague on the simple comment. There are alot of small pieces in this model, but it is taking alot of time…currently 30 minutes and only 54%

Hi @scott.kluegel

  • How about for the other D5 Files or Demo Scene Files (such as Residence Lawn), how long does it take to open them?
  • And how big is this file that you are currently working with?
  • Can you send us your VRAM while this file is open?
